A Hearty Welcome to Dilip Hazarika Online!!!

I am Mr. Dilip Hazarika.

(Meaning of my name: 'Dilip' is a word originated in Sanskrit, which means 'protector'. In Hindu mythology, Dilip was a king from the Solar race from which comes the famous king Rama. Dilip's son Bhagiratha was the one who cut the Great Himalaya to let the Holy Ganga flow to the plains.)

Born on 3rd of March 1980, I am presently working with IMG Group of Companies, in the Research Division as a Research Executive.

Prior to that I worked with The Oberoi Group of Hotels as Marketing Communications Executive.

My first job was that of an Events Executive in the International Business Events  Division of Conferences and Incentives Management (CIM), New Delhi.

I am the fifth of the six children of my parents, at
Napam Malakhubasa Village in the Sivasagar District of Assam , India. My father Mr. Phatic Hazarika, got retired as a teacher in a primary school; while my mother Mrs. Makan Hazarika, takes every care of our home.

If I have to talk about my education, I have done my schooling from my local Hafaluting High School. Then in 1995, I came to Sivasagar Govt. Higher Secondary and Multi Purpose School for my +2 in Arts. After passing my H.S. Final with 72.4% and an all-Assam highest of 88% in English, I landed at Guwahati and got admitted into Cotton College, the oldest and most prestigious Educational Institute in North-East India, with major in English. Although I came to Delhi for my MA, I went back home due to some inevitibility. Finally, I have pursued my M. A in English with specilization in Critical Theory, from Gauhati University in the year 2003.

After my MA final exam in April 2003, I was planning the route to a career. This was the time, when I was enthused by the advertisement of ITFT Chandigarh, for a course in tourism. (I had a keen interest in tourism and promoting Assam to the outside world). So, on 20 th August 2003, I, alongwith 49 other friends started for Chandigarh to pursue P.G Diploma Course in Tourism Management from Institute of Tourism and Future Management Trends (ITFT). In ITFT, my specialization was Event Management. As a part of the campus recruitment drive, I got selction for Mercury Travels, New Delhi; but my interest in events has taken me to Conferences Incentives Management (I) Pvt Ltd.

Groomed amidst the simple county folks and a serene village environment, all of our six brothers and sisters have been shaped by the knowledge and idealism of a teacher and the wisdom of a mother.
